Hello! I’m Amy and I teach people how to set up and successfully run their own profitable microgreens business here in the UK.

I provide practical, step-by-step training, to help you create your own microgreens business that you love.

If you’d like to spend your days growing fresh, highly nutritious food for your local community and turn this into a successful business for yourself, then you’ve come to the right place. The small-scale, local food industry is continuing to boom in the UK, so jump onboard if you’d like to be a part of it.

Here are 3 great reasons to start

your own microgreens business

  • You'll be growing fresh food for your local community - AS YOUR JOB!

It doesn’t get better than this, right? You’ll be providing incredible fresh produce for people to enjoy, with the added bonus of making a real connection to your local community… AND you can make a full time living doing it!

Microgreens provide intense flavours, interesting varieties, vibrant colours and an incredible nutritional kick! What’s not to love? A fresher product also lasts longer in the fridge, so reducing food waste.

  • The local microgreens industry is currently thriving in the UK

This means you’ll have lots of different people to sell your microgreens to. These include: your local residential community, cafes, restaurants, pubs, private chefs, farm shops, greengrocers, health food shops, local veg box schemes. You can also sell your amazing product to wholesale vegetable distributors.

  • You get to grow plants all day and work from home!

If growing plants makes you ridiculously happy and you want to design your own work schedule that fits around your life, then this could be the perfect business for you!

It’s also a simple and inexpensive business to set up, which means you can get selling your produce relatively quickly.

Here’s a bit about my story…

I’m passionate about food growing, local food systems and small-scale ethical business. Business that is both environmentally and financially sustainable in the long term.

A microgreens business ticks all these boxes and was a perfect choice for me when I wanted to start my own food growing business back in 2017 in my house in Leeds, UK. Nell’s Urban Greens was born and I’ve continued to build and love my business ever since!

Over these past 6 years, I’ve seen more and more people interested in and choosing this business to help them make the shift in their lives to create a more fulfilling way to work. Back then, the support and practical information just wasn’t available to do this specifically in the UK.

I set up Farm Microgreens UK in 2019, in response to this, to offer support, training and guidance to anyone interested in making a go at growing and selling microgreens for a living.

I now offer courses, one to one consultations and a thriving free Facebook group that’s packed full of valuable content and made up of over a thousand like minded people.
